| NO INJURY TO KIDS！ SAFE KIDS CHINA Celebrating the 10th Anniversary |

| Safe Kids China, a network of Safe Kids Worldwide, the first and only international nonprofit organization dedicated solely to preventing unintentional childhood injury, is approaching the end of its first decade. It’s time to celebrate its history, its accomplishments and 10 years of preventing accidental injuries. Over the course of the year, we will: Celebrate Our History and Accomplishments Education with personal touching experience Our collaborated kindergartens, schools and hospitals will continue giving education to parents and students on accidental injury prevention. Stories from doctors and parents will be collected to share their experience in helping children away from accidental injuries. A special 10th Safe Kids week will be held in over 10 cities during May 26th to June 6th . Watch for the special program called Star Mom and Star Doctor program at http://star.safekidschina.org A Gala celebrating the 10th anniversary On June 3rd, there will be an assembly of healthcare related govn’t officials, injury professionals from national and global organizations such as WHO and Unicef, doctors, educators, police, sponsors and injury prevention advocates, recognizing the people who contributed their effort on child injury prevention and anticipating a future of working together to save children’s lives. Anticipate a Bright Future of Declining Childhood Accidental Injuries Launch of the Chinese version of a WHO Action Plan on Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention Safe Kids China translated “Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention, a WHO Action Plan (2006-2015) into Chinese.” A launch ceremony for its Chinese version publication will be held, followed by a seminar of childhood accidental injury prevention. This plan will be a guide for countries, communities and organizations on developing action plans for childhood injury prevention. For ten-years' efforts of Safe Kids Campaign in China, we have already seen its impact to the improvement of child safety in China, with death rate reduction of accidental childhood injuries by 6 percent comparing 2000 with 2005, estimating 17,000 lives saved in 2005 v.s. 2000. However, Unintentional childhood injury is the leading cause of the deaths among the Chinese children ages under 14. Safe Kids China launched Safe Kids Campaign with Johnson & Johnson support in 1999, bringing together public health experts, corporations, foundations and government agencies to address this foremost killer of children in China through research, education, and environment and regulation improvement promotion. Each year, we reach over 500,000 kids and parents in China. This will be not only a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Safe Kids China, but a remarkable event for childhood injury prevention in China, it will recognize the persons who contribute to this course and encourage more young people to join in the public health sector.
